Dog Training Classes
The Ideal Pet offers classes for dogs of all life stages and skill levels. Whatever your dog's age, breed, or previous training experience, one of our specialized training programs is right for you!

Holiday Manners
This is a single-session workshop intended for dogs of all ages. Teach your dog some self-control in time for the Holiday Season! Your pooch will learn how to sit-to-greet, lie quietly on a mat, come when called, and much more! Class fee is 30.00. Preregistration is mandatory.
Manners
All dogs should learn good manners! Join our class and learn how to teach your dog to sit, down, stay, come when called, walk politely on a leash, and much more. We also discuss common problem behaviors such as jumping up, begging, chewing, and more. This class is intended for all dogs aged 5 months or older. We meet for an hour each week for 4 consecutive weeks. Class fee is $100.00.
Puppy
This class is intended for puppies under the age of 5 months. Get your pup off to a great start and help him get socialized! In addition to basic obedience, we address problem behaviors which are common to puppies (chewing, jumping up, house soiling, etc). We meet weekly for 4 weeks. Each class is one hour long. Class fee is $100.00.
Therapy Dog
This class is intended for those who wish to become a certified and insured therapy dog team! Dogs of any age are welcome to join us. We'll cover all of the behaviors necessary to passing the evaluation as well as answer any questions you might have. These classes are NOT required to pass the evaluation and they do not include the evaluation itself. This hour-long class will meet once weekly for 4 weeks. Class fee is $95.00 and includes a Canine Good Citizen evaluation.
Private Training
Private training is our most flexible option. Classes are scheduled around you and can include instruction for more than one pet. This is a great option for those who would like to have some one-on-one time with the trainer or have special needs and/or concerns. Classes can be held in our facility or in your home. A single private session is $70.00 per hour. A package of three sessions is $180.00. All class fees include 10 outbound miles at no extra charge and each mile thereafter is subject to a $0.50 mileage fee.
